It is completely normal for your pool’s water level to drop a little each day. This is due to evaporation. Evaporation causes about a 1/4 inch drop in the water level per day, or 2 inches per week. If your pool is losing water more quickly than this, you may have a leak. Pool leaks can result from defects in the pool shell or any of the plumbing associated with recirculation, filtration, and spa systems.
Here are some more common signs that your pool is leaking:
?Your pool loses more than 2 inches of water a week.
?You see cracks in the foundation, or tears in the lining.
?The surface of your pool deck is sinking or lifting.
?You have to add water to your pool more than once a week.
